Gulf Final Settlement Checker

For private-sector workers leaving a job in Saudi Arabia or the UAE. Every line shows the article of the labour law it comes from. Qatar is being verified.

1. Where and when you worked
Country

Both days count as service.

2. Your last monthly wage

Without housing, transport or other allowances. The UAE gratuity and leave pay use this figure.

Basic wage plus the allowances in your contract. Saudi end-of-service and leave pay use this figure.

3. How the job ended
Choose the closest
4. What you are still owed (leave blank if nothing)

Use decimals for part months, for example 0.5 for half a month.

Leave you earned, including this year's share, minus the days you took.

Hours worked beyond your normal hours and not yet paid.

Needed only if you enter overtime. Use the hours in your contract.

These get a higher rate, unless you work shifts.

Unpaid days off are not counted as service in the UAE.

What a final settlement includes

When a job ends, the employer owes four things on top of anything else in your contract: the end-of-service award (Saudi Arabia) or gratuity (UAE), any wages not yet paid, pay for annual leave you did not take, and overtime that was never paid. This tool works out each one and shows the article it comes from. It does not add notice pay, compensation for unfair dismissal, air tickets or other contract benefits.

Saudi Arabia: the formula

Worked example: total wage SAR 10,000 (basic 6,000), 7 years of service, resigned, 2 months unpaid, 15 leave days, 20 overtime hours at 8 hours a day. Full award = 5,000 × 5 + 10,000 × 2 = 45,000, and two thirds on resignation = SAR 30,000. Unpaid wages = 2 × 10,000 = SAR 20,000. Leave = 15 × 10,000 ÷ 30 = SAR 5,000. Overtime = 20 × (41.67 + 50% of 25.00) = SAR 1,083.33. Total SAR 56,083.33.

UAE: the formula

Worked example: basic wage AED 7,000 (total 11,000), 7 years, resigned, 1 month unpaid, 10 leave days, 14 overtime hours of which 4 at night, at 8 hours a day. Gratuity = (21 × 5 + 30 × 2) = 165 days × 7,000 ÷ 30 = AED 38,500. Unpaid wages = AED 11,000. Leave = 10 × 233.33 = AED 2,333.33. Overtime = 10 × 29.17 × 1.25 + 4 × 29.17 × 1.5 = AED 364.58 + 175.00. Total AED 52,372.91.

Qatar: being verified

We have not yet confirmed the Qatar Labour Law (Law No. 14 of 2004, as amended) against its official text, so the tool does not calculate a Qatar settlement. It will be added only after every rule is checked.

This is not legal advice. It is an estimate based on what you enter and the law as checked on the date below. Your contract or company rules may give you more. Check with the labour ministry (HRSD in Saudi Arabia, MOHRE in the UAE) or a lawyer before you make a claim.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Saudi end-of-service award on basic or total salary?

On the last total wage. The Saudi Labor Law defines "wage" as the actual wage, which is the basic wage plus allowances (Article 2). Your contract may leave out commissions and other wage parts that go up and down (Article 86).

Is the UAE gratuity on basic or total salary?

On the last basic wage only, without allowances (Article 51(5)). Unpaid wages are owed in full, including allowances.

Do I lose my gratuity if I resign?

In the UAE, no: Article 51 gives the same gratuity after one year, however the contract ends. In Saudi Arabia, resignation reduces the award: nothing under 2 years, one third for 2 to 5 years, two thirds for more than 5 and under 10, and the full award from 10 years (Article 85).

Do you store what I enter?

No. The calculation runs in your browser and nothing is sent to us or saved.
